Onboard Assistant ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("you" or "your"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Onboard Assistant Chrome extension (the "Extension").

Information Collection and Use

Screenshot Data:

When you ask a question through Onboard Assistant, the Extension captures a screenshot of the current browser tab. This screenshot is immediately sent to our secure backend servers for processing to help answer your question. We do not store these screenshots permanently. They are used solely for the purpose of responding to your specific query and are deleted immediately after processing.

Metadata:

We collect and store high-level metadata related to the use of Onboard Assistant. This metadata may include:

  • The timestamp of your query.
  • The general category of your question (e.g., "product information," "troubleshooting").
  • Usage statistics (e.g., frequency of use, features used).

This metadata is used to improve the performance and functionality of Onboard Assistant, analyze usage trends, and for internal reporting purposes. It does not include any personally identifiable information from the screenshots or your browsing activity.

Collecting and Using Personal Information

For purposes of this Policy, "personal information" is defined as any information that can be used to identify an individual, and may include: name, address, email address, phone number, login information (account number, password).

We collect personal information, and may use personal information, for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to:

  • Providing customer service and support for Solutions;
  • Processing an order, including payment transactions;
  • Sending marketing communications;
  • Correcting and enhancing contact information we may have for you;
  • Personalizing your view of the website and/or Solution experiences

Data Sharing

We do not share your screenshot data or metadata with any third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may engage third-party service providers to assist us with backend infrastructure, data processing, and other services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect the confidentiality of your information and are only permitted to use it for the purposes we specify.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Screenshot data is transmitted securely to our servers and deleted immediately after processing. Metadata is stored securely and access is limited to authorized personnel. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Onboard Assistant is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and encourage you to review it periodically. Your continued use of Onboard Assistant following the posting of such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
